Wood Chuckers – Wood Bank
Local volunteers cut, split, and deliver firewood to help households stay warm and safe.
The Wood Chuckers Community Wood Bank brings together local volunteers to help St. George residents stay warm, safe, and dry during the winter months. Through this program, volunteers cut, split, stack, and deliver firewood to households that need extra support heating their homes, providing a vital resource for families and individuals facing challenging winter conditions.
Each participating household receives a truckload of supplemental firewood, ensuring they have enough heat to stay comfortable and secure. So far in the 2025/2026 winter season, we have delivered wood to 16 households, totaling approximately 15 cords—helping families stay warm when they need it most. The program focuses on safety, warmth, and community connection, supporting neighbors in a time of need.
Thanks to the dedication of local volunteers and community donations, the Wood Chuckers program ensures that no one in St. George must face the cold without adequate heat.
