About

Caleb grew up in Maine and has always had a love of the outdoors and education. He and his wife, Betsy, moved to St. George in 2012 and have two daughters attending the St. George School.

Caleb has been a teacher for over twenty years. After graduating from Colgate University, he taught English as a second language in various multinational businesses in Santiago, Chile. He returned to Maine in 2006 to attend the University of Southern Maine, where he earned a master’s degree in education. He has been teaching high school English in public schools ever since, first at City Honors, the gifted and talented school for the Buffalo Public School District, and currently at Oceanside High School in Rockland.

Caleb has been interested in volunteerism since high school, when he became a mentor in his town’s Big Brother program, and college, when he tutored local children through the Headstart program. More recently, he helped run the St. George Parks & Rec. soccer clinics for 1st and 2nd graders. In the last few years, Caleb has served as a site construction volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, chipping in on a wide range of construction projects around the midcoast, including a recent new build in St. George.

When not cheering on his kids and their Dragon teammates as they participate in sports, Caleb enjoys being active himself. Some of his favorite places to recreate can be found around Penobscot Bay and the western mountains of Maine, where he enjoys cross country skiing with his wife and yellow lab, Feta, and fishing for brook trout.
