At the St. George Community Cupboard, we are dedicated to serving the residents of St. George, Maine, by providing fresh produce, non-perishable and perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and pet food. We open our doors every Thursday, welcoming community members to pick up or receive deliveries of essential supplies. Orders can be placed online from Monday to Wednesday, with pickups and deliveries scheduled from 2 pm to 7 pm on Thursdays.

Our Story

In 2018, we heard a clear message from our community: the existing food pantries in Knox County were too far and too infrequent for residents of the peninsula. Families were limited to monthly visits, and the support they received was often insufficient. Determined to change this, a dedicated group of volunteers came together to create a local solution. Starting in a small back room and serving just 15 households, we’ve grown significantly thanks to the community’s trust and support.

As demand increased, the Community Development Corporation stepped in, renovating a community center with the Cupboard at its heart. Today, we proudly serve almost 100 registered households, fulfilling orders for an average of 40 families each week. This growth wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers, who tirelessly pick, pack, and manage inventory under the exceptional leadership of our Cupboard Operations Manager, Ingalil Vickerman.

How You Can Help

Every donation helps us keep our shelves stocked and ensures everyone eats in St. George. With your support, we can continue to provide more families with the nutritious food and essential items they need to thrive.

We welcome all monetary donations.  We also accept donations of unopened and individually wrapped items that you might have in your cupboard and not need.  We cannot accept out of date or open items.  Please discard those items at home.  We also have an AMAZON WISH LIST and a WALMART REGISTRY.  You can shop online and have items shipped directly to the cupboard.  And always, please contact us if you are interested in volunteering at communitycupboard@stgeorgecommunity.org.
